Report an Injury

If you're hurt at work, report your injury to the WCB. We understand that reporting an injury can be overwhelming and want to make sure the process is as easy as possible.

Step 1: Report the injury to your employer

Tell your manager or supervisor you were hurt at work as soon as possible. They may also ask you to fill out a form about the injury. Your employer is responsible for reporting your injury to the WCB within five business days of learning about the injury.

Step 2: See a healthcare provider

Seek medical attention for your injury. Let your healthcare provider know you were injured at work.

Step 3: Report your injury to the WCB

If you miss time from work or see a healthcare provider because of a workplace injury, call the WCB to report your injury.

A WCB representative will take details about your injury and other information needed to open your claim. You will be given a claim number and an adjudicator. The adjudicator will gather information from all parties to make a decision about your claim and whether you are entitled to benefits.

There are multiple ways to report your injury:

  • Call the WCB at (204) 954-4321 or toll-free 1 (855) 954-4321
  • Fill out the Worker Online Incident Report. Please note you will require JavaScript enabled on your web browser.
  • Download the Worker Incident Report, fill it out and send it to us via fax or mail.
    • Fax: (204) 954-4999, Toll-free: 1 (877) 872-3804

You can report your injury by phone from 8 AM to 7 PM, Monday to Friday (except statutory holidays). We also have translation services available to help you speak to a WCB representative in the language of your choice.

You have a right to report your injury

No one should stop you from reporting an injury to the WCB. It is also illegal for your employer to discourage, reprimand or fire you from reporting a workplace injury to the WCB.
