The following policies have been updated:
Policy 21.10.40 Expenses for Attendance at Appeal Hearings: Effective October 1, 2013 travel allowance for attendance at Appeal Hearings remains unchanged at 41 cents per kilometre.
Policy 31.05.05 Rate Setting for the General Body of Employers (Employers in Class E): Policy revised by Board Order 19/13 on October 3, 2013 and effective for the 2014 Rate Setting Period and beyond. The policy change removes the cost of noise-induced hearing loss claims from the cost records of Class E employers.
Policy 31.05.10 Cost Relief/Cost Transfers: Policy revised by Board Order 19/13 on October 3, 2013 effective for all decisions on or after October 1, 2013. The policy change removes the cost of noise-induced hearing loss claims from the cost records of Class E employers. Policy 44.20.50.20, Noise-Induced Hearing Loss, provides guidance on the adjudication of noise-induced hearing loss claims and the assigning of claim costs.
Policy 32.00 Statement of Investment Policies and Objectives: Policy 32.00 updated by Board Order 21/13 on October 3, 2013 effective October 1, 2013. Changes to the policy include: the addition of the Policy Asset Mix of a 10% allocation to Infrastructure and the corresponding reductions to the Policy Asset Mix allocations to bonds and equities to fund the new asset class. The change in Policy Asset Mix requires adjustments to the compliant ranges for the affected asset classes.
Policy 35.10.120 Terms and Conditions of Optional and Personal Coverage: Appendix A updated October 1, 2013 to reflect the maximum optional/personal coverage which can be purchased for 2014 as adjusted by the indexing factor calculated under Section 47 of the Act. Appendix B updated to reflect the minimum personal coverage which can be purchased for 2014 as adjusted by the indexing factor calculated under Section 47 of the Act.
Policy 43.10.50 Rehabilitation for Spouses or Common-law Partners of Deceased Workers: Appendix A updated to show Maximum Annual Net Employment Income as of January 1, 2014.
Policy 43.20.40 Relocation: Schedule A adjusted effective October 1, 2013.
Policy 44.20.50.20 Noise-Induced Hearing Loss: Policy revised by Board Order 19/13 on October 3, 2013, effective for claims with a date of notification on or after October 1, 2013. The policy change removes the cost of noise-induced hearing loss claims from the cost records of Class E employers.
Policy 44.100.20 Annuities: Table under C. Policy Application has been updated to show the 2014 threshold levels for converting a lump-sum payment into an annuity and eligibility for independent financial advice have been adjusted.
Policy 44.120.30 Support for Daily Living: The hourly rate paid to family members who act as personal care attendants and the monthly rate for Independent Living Allowance have been updated effective October 1, 2103. Section H. Clothing Allowance indexed as per the Manitoba Consumer Price Index effective October 1, 2013.
