Hi there, I know many people are concerned that if they report a workplace injury to the WCB that their employer may look unfavorably towards them.
I can let you know that as a, you know, major employer in the province that’s not the case at all. It’s actually the opposite.
We really encourage employees to report so that we can learn from and benefit from those injuries and try to prevent them in the future.
It’s also in the employees best interest to do that in case the injury lingers or becomes a problem maybe not immediately, but a month down the road.
There are lots of benefits to reporting and employers can’t treat anyone who did report in an unfavorable manner.
That’s not appropriate and not tolerated in Manitoba.
